My photo was taken at the MAMM Art Museum in Moscow, where I visited with my niece as a spectator. My attention was drawn to a series of black-and-white photographs by a contemporary photographer. The series was dedicated to the visual culture of the early 20th century and drew inspiration from the aesthetics of silent cinema. The exposed light in the gallery emphasized the glamor and recognizable style of the photographs. And the spotlights helped to reveal the girl's youth in contrast to the fatal and solemn beauty of the heroine's portrait in the photo.
