The Woman I Am Above All

Produced in the fall of 2022, the self-portrait series “The woman I am above all” arises as an opportunity to enter a space of vulnerability, allowing me to get closer to who I am beneath all the identities I have amassed. I try to answer the question: what are the qualities I have and do not recognize beyond my usual roles as a woman? It is said that what we see in another person is a reflection of what also exists in us. So, in the search for answers, I began by observing what I admired in all human beings, real or fictional. I found that I resonated much more with those who had a female experience of the world like mine, and decided to only include women in this project. With this series, I aim to capture those moments of my day-to-day life when my heroines arise, and to recognize in this process the qualities that I share with them, and make me, the woman I am above all.
