An Experiment in Light

Every photograph I make is an experiment. Everyone understands that word differently. For me, the experiment begins and ends with light. With every image, I try to understand its nature a little better—its influence, its strength, its full range. I search for a quality that feels almost tangible: smoothness, softness, sculpted texture; human warmth and the stillness of stone within the same frame. Soft yet profound shadows. Gentle yet unmistakable gradients. Contrast that remains balanced without becoming harsh. If I can learn to achieve this consistently—even while photographing myself—there will always be another level of mastery to pursue. I am satisfied with this experiment. And I am satisfied with these photographs.
