Beyond Recognition is a visual record of the first few months of David Vanlalchhuanga's photographic journey, featuring photographs created throughout 2025 after beginning photography in mid-2025. Created from Mizoram, Northeast India. These images trace the evolution of his way of seeing from learning the fundamentals of street and travel photography to developing a deeper interest in documentary storytelling and the human condition.
While some of these photographs have received recognition through international FIAP-patronaged exhibitions and some being awarded FIAP Diploma award in PAC Exhibition Congo 2026(FIAP 2026/285), this project is not about awards. It is about growth, curiosity and the pursuit of honest, meaningful photographs. Together, these images document a single year of discovery, where each frame marks another step toward understanding people, places, and everyday life with greater empathy and intention.
For David Vanlalchhuanga, recognition is not the destination, it is simply one milestone in the lifelong pursuit of storytelling through photography.
