An antidote to many of today's instantly forgotten digital snaps, these film-based portraits, taken with large format cameras using slow shutter speeds, demand stillness and quietness: the intention is to capture a portrait with lasting resonance. I hope these photographic prints will become heirlooms for subsequent generations, their poignancy increasing over time.
