The photographs in this project were taken along the shore and are intended to express the surreal experience that occurs when you spend time alone between the water and the land. Interesting and strange things are created when these two great forces meet, as if in a parallel universe where anything could appear. The quiet unfathomable power of the ocean is sensed. Its vastness infuses the air and penetrates my body as if I may not really be there, but walking through the ocean’s dream. There, I encounter the odd characters, some etched and deposited onto the land, some fragmented and thrown onto the shore and left to weather in the sun or be handled by humans and discarded again. Others are later reclaimed by the water. These sea objects are found amongst the chaotic wreckage, isolated and disoriented-all have forgotten from where they originated.
