Every day, I travel a long distance by bike, crossing the city of Florence from the south to the north, to reach my job site. I like to observe people I meet, frequently the same one, and the objects that I find, maybe abandoned or lost objects. I wonder what are the stories of this people and these things. I grasp only few moments of these stories. Stolen instants of long stories, which continue while our life goes inexorably elsewhere; while we proceed on our way, these stories run, dragging themselves elsewhere. The images I propose have been deliberately shot without stopping, I never got off the bike, in order to describe the shortness of time we devote to thinking to the other people's lives, busy as we are to continue on our way, but shot with long shutter speed (around 1/10 sec) to represent the temporal extent of these long stories of which we are able to see only a fraction of a second.
