Magnum New Blood

Since its inception, Magnum Photos has been holding an Annual General Meeting in either New York, London or Paris. The AGM brings together Magnum photographers, photographer estates and the agency’s international staff to discuss company business and vote on potential new members, associates and nominees. This year’s Annual General Meeting took place in Paris, France, at the Speos Paris Photographic Institute. After four days of festivities and meetings, led by Magnum president Martin Parr and Executive Director David Kogan, the following motions have been executed: Michael Christopher Brown has been made an Associate Member Carolyn Drake has been made a Magnum Nominee Matt Black has been made a Magnum Nominee Newsha Tavakolian has been made a Magnum Nominee Max Pinckers has been made a Magnum Nominee Richard Mosse has been made a Magnum Nominee Lorenzo Meloni has been made a Magnum Nominee A note from President Parr: “Under the careful eye of our Executive Director, David Kogan we are starting to restructure Magnum Photos to adapt to the new opportunities that the ever-changing landscape of photography has to offer. The recent Magnum Square Print endeavor conducted prior to the AGM was a resounding success. At this year’s proceedings, the photographers also took on a record breaking six new nominees, which indicates the great faith we have in our future and our desire to find the best new talent that can contribute to the growth of Magnum.” A note from Executive Director Kogan: “We have had a very constructive AGM with a real view of the future strategy of Magnum.
