I traveled to Tanzania this past summer and volunteered with non-profits that provided educational and basic support to underprivileged children in poor villages. Typically, we're given the impression that the children of Africa are impoverished, miserable and sad but instead, I found quite the opposite. They made the most with minimal resources and displayed a humble, open and grateful attitude in their ways of being. I captured the richness and joy of their hearts, their curiosity and excitement, and their pureness and openness. They filled my heart with joy and made me a richer person.
