SHOWMEN

Showmen is an on-going series of portraits of people that work on the funfairs, related to my interest in communities living beyond the mainstream. I appeared and asked if I could take some pictures as Benson’s funfair, a small family run business, were setting up locally to me. They were guarded at first but also keen to tell me that business is in the doldrums and whilst they are committed to a transient life it is not an easy choice. I had to work quickly with half-willing subjects, but I felt that method preserved something of an attitude in their expressions.
