Child labor still affects millions of kids worldwide. Statistics from the International Labor Organization show that there are about 73 million children between ages 10 and 14 that work in economic activities throughout the world, and 218 million children working worldwide between the ages of 5 and 17. These figures do not even include domestic labor. The child labor problem is worst in Asia, where 44.6 million children have to work. In Bangladesh some 1.2 million children are still trapped in its worst forms, according to the latest National Child Labour Survey report, published in 2015. The real scenario might be even worse. Bangladesh adopted the National Child Labor Elimination Policy 2010, providing a framework to eradicate all forms of child labor by 2015. But the current economic condition of Bangladesh is unable to solve child labor problem. It's not possible to ban child labor completely at any time since their families are in need. They don't have any other options other than work for money and help their family. If government really going to banned child labor, the situation might become even worse than this. So before banning child labor, government first needs to develop country’s economic condition.
