Middle Ground

There is a certain magic to the American Midwest. Usually unassuming. Sometimes stark. Often overlooked. I have spent most of my life in this land that many refer to only as “fly-over territory.” After photographing my way around the world, I realized that I had not fully explored the rich visual potential that was literally in my own backyard. I had not tilled the fertile Middle Ground around me. In recent years, I have dedicated myself to photographing the unique natural beauty of my home state of Wisconsin and her Midwest neighbors. It has proven to be an educational and enriching experience. If I have been successful in my pursuit, I hope my work helps you see the American Midwest landscape in a whole new light. Regardless of where you are from, perhaps you will find an emotional connection to this Middle Ground.
