I approach photography with kind of obsession typical for the medium. By closeness to „life“ in form of intense observations or even more by encountering the truth on very personal basis if you wish …
I photograph Ostrava and the whole industrial region since my youth. Ostrava is everything but quiet, residential city. So called „city of the future“ /old communist term/ is full of life even now when the impact of heavy industry is not so imminent…
Photography may play important role only when is being produced in a long time span and without self-censorship applied. Brief photographing, bizarre appearance of the objects so as too much aesthetics does not interest me.
Rather an inner shape, polarization of the elements, state of affairs unfinished. All of that we call ambiguity.
There is still a danger in the air and that is when we start repeating ourselves and new work does not seem to bring about anything substantial.
Even that does not have to be a real creative disaster only when we do not resign on daily adventures /events/ and their recognizing amidst the chaos… For achieving that we need our vision to stay sharp and personal with all the risks involved…
