Germano does not remember his childhood, perhaps because he has not lived it. At 9 months meningitis caused him brain damage which led to heavy attacks of epilepsy that accompanied him throughout his life.
Germano has not been able to work, have a child, a woman, nothing that a healthy person can happily enjoy.
He lived between races in hospital, visits and medicines.
He died December 9, 2016 as a result of a cancer that made his last years a suffering hell.
I decided to dedicate to him this story because Germano was an amazing person, it was a living demonstration of how the child within each of us can continue to live and be amazed by the simple things of everyday life, with a wonderful smile to give away at every opportunity. Germano did not need anything, in spite of everything was able to smile sincerely and to give joy to those who had the good fortune to know him.
I tell this story because I realized how big can be the love of a mother for a child. A woman who has dedicated 68 years of his life to him and to his illness, giving up everything.
Germano perhaps did not need anything else because it certainly was surrounded and protected by love, the real one.
