District Six is situated on the slopes of Table Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa. In 1966 it was declared a “whites only” area and the Apartheid Regime began the systematic destruction of a poor but vibrant community. 2016 - 50 years after the brutal removal of around 60,000 people to the outlaying suburbs of Cape Town District Six still remains largely undeveloped, testament to “man’s inhumanity to man”.
