Family and Home Series. by Debby Besford "Family and Home" is an on going photographic exploration about my parents and their daily lives - over the past fifteen years. Mapping out childhood territory - emphasising a place of belonging. Nostalgia plays an important part showing places once played in. It draws on elements of past, and present. This series selected is a small portion of a much larger body of work. The square format is intentional and the use of 120 film to create a disciplined approach for most of the project. My father sadly passed away last summer, but my commitment is to continue the work and creatively document my mother, who now lives alone. My wish is to get the work published and exhibited in the next year as a tribute to my parents and other people’s parents from this particular generation. Debby Besford February 2015
