These photographs are meditations of wandering in the darkness, not the literal darkness, but the darkness of ones being. This internal landscape is one of isolation, loneliness and fragility. The darkness invokes extreme contrasts between feelings of solitude and a deep desire to belong to something greater than one’s self.
Life confronts us in our aloneness, and lays bare our inadequacies, failures, and vulnerabilities. Surrender and persistent acceptance of our flawed existence are the only choices if one is to re-emerge free and transformed by the journey.
