Intertwined

I watch life grow and transform in my garden. I also see the destructive forces that move within the same landscape, reminding me that chaos and order are inescapably intertwined. The yin yang symbol in Taoist philosophy describes how contrary forces are actually complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world, and how they give rise to each other. I began this series from that impulse, understanding that as long as we find beauty and mystery in this world, we have not yet exhausted what life has to offer. Each piece is hand sculpted with beeswax, oil pigments on archival prints and wood panel.
