Faces of Joaquim
Saint Joaquim is the name of the largest street market in Salvador, the capital of Bahia State. Thousands of people pass through its narrow streets every day, customers and merchants, most of them low-income. Considered part of the cultural heritage of the city, it suffers from precarious services, due to the abandonment of government. Vendors work exhausting days in tents sometimes improvised. 'Faces of Joaquim' focus on ordinary people, invisible and excluded socially, main tissues of this organism.
