Combining the use of liquid light and lumen prints, I use non-archival darkroom techniques to create obtain folded, cracked, and almost skin-like abstract images that I then scan into the computer to make the final large, detailed digital image. The finished product is completely archival. I see the Liquid light as the "skin" of photography, and I examine its state after it leaves the darkroom as a form of decay. After it gets to a state of "decay" that I am happy with, I pair it with a lumen print to give it a skin color or even the color of bruising.
