On 8th December, 2016, I was driving around Singapore to look for the old airport, and I bumped into a beautiful Housing Estate. It looked empty but I stopped because I was taken aback by its beauty. Lucky enough I had my camera with me, because when asked a few people around, they told me they had to leave by mid December.
It's one of Singapore's oldest remaining Housing Estates, and some of the people I talked to, grew up there. It was built in 1958 and the time has come for a new development.
Some of them, even if they have moved to the new place, they left a few items back there so they have an excuse to come back. Others, prefer to stay until the last day. It was a very moving experience, indeed.
From that day until now, I have been going to Dakota Crescent on a regular basis, once or twice a week, when in Singapore, to try to document as much as I can before the new development starts.
