Every summer our family leaves the city to spend the summer months in the countryside. Summertime is something special for me, and I hope very much for my four children too. It is a kind of therapy, like meditation. We have neither TV nor PC at our country house, but we have a garden, a river side, and much more space and time for thoughts and dreams.
There are many tasks around the house and garden, especially during summer. Yet I feel relieved and peaceful. It is because I can work in the garden and feel the soil, I can immerse in the river and feel the water. But more importantly, I can take my camera and take pictures, pictures of those I love most. I am watching my children build their relationship with nature (environment), and I am trying to remember myself, my own dreams when I was a child. Taking pictures allows me to connect with myself, not get lost among pots, frying-pans and dishes. Perhaps this is a story about me.
