The project ANCIENT GRAINS OF PUGLIA The origins of the wheat in Puglia are very old and its production is projected into the future, for the preservation of ancient grains can help the man who deals with climate change to improve the quality and productivity of the fields. The active involvement of young people in this important process is crucial because the Bio production is increasingly in the attention of farmers, both Italian and foreign, and therefore it constitutes a great job opportunities for the younger generation and therefore is an opportunity not to be missed. Rotary, for its part, can not keep out of this important educational activity against the New Generations and this is therefore the reason why is started this activity also within the Rotary Club Bari West, because it is shared by the president Patrizia Mattioli who has fully embraced the proposal of the undersigned, Past President of R.C. Roma Cassia, with which, last year, together with R.C. Latin and R.C. Tunis Mediterranèe has started an identical experimental project called: "ANCIENT GRAINS OF TUNISIA", who is also holder of a global grant from the Rotary Foundation. It 'was, therefore, signed a "partnership" agreement with the commitment to continue this important activity on Ancient grains of Puglia, with the support also of other Rotary Clubs of the area, starting with the training of young farmers, as well as help train a new generation of leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, farmers can ensure food and nutritional securities to growing world population, while preserving, conserving and enhancing the natural resources of the territories. The Cooperation Agreement was signed on 26 July 2016 between: Rotary Club Roma Cassia - District 2080 of Rotary in the person of President Carlo Patrizi; Rotary Club Bari West - District 2120 in the person of President Patrizia Mattioli; Mediterrae Consortium (Body Nonprofit) represented by President Roberto De Pascalis; "Rotarians Association for Youth of the Mediterranean", named Gi & ME Association, represented by the President Francesco (called Franz) Martinelli. And to follow, for the development of related actions concerning the project was formed, on 4 August 2016, a Steering Committee is likely to ensure the single management and coordination of all activities in full compliance with the agreements and of the premises of ' Collaboration agreement signed. The Executive Committee is currently composed of the following Rotarians: - RC Roma Cassia - District 2080, incoming President Dr. Giuseppe Bruni, head of the press office of the Council for Research in Agriculture and Agricultural Economy Analysis; - Rotary Club Bari West - District 2120, prof. dr. Antonio Capurso, an expert in Nutrition and Mediterranean Diet; - Consortium Mediterrae, the President and now the Rotary Club Bari West partner, Eng. Roberto De Pascalis, Brigadier General of Aeronautical Engineers ®; - The 'Association Rotarians Youth Mediterranean, called Gi & ME Association, the President and member of the Rotary Club Roma Cassia l' ing. Franz Martinelli. This new project called "Ancient Grains of Puglia", which we hope will enjoy a global grant from the Rotary Foundation, definitely will strengthen the friendship and collaboration between the Rotary Club Méditerranée Tunis, Rome and Bari West Cassia, also laying the groundwork for an innovative collaborative nature activities interdistrict between Districts 9010 (Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and Mauritania), 2080 (Lazio and Sardinia), 2120 (Puglia and Basilicata) and may involve many other Rotary Club Pugliesi; is currently expected to attend the Rotary Club of dell'Ofanto Rive, Cerignola, Canosa, Altamura-Gravina, Bisceglie, Molfetta, Bitonto, Corato, Gioia del Colle-Acquaviva, Bari Alto Land of Peucetis over the Inner Wheel Bari Alto Casamassima, which played a particular action to increase awareness of the Governor of District 210 Anna Lapenna Carf, and Rotaract Bari. Another added value of the project will be to support and propagate the value of Social and Territorial agribusiness, which aims to enhance the dishes and typical Apulian traditions into one with the quality and wholesomeness of the products, thereby trying to encourage more possible enlargement of this important sector.
