The series 'STILL LIFES IN GREENS AND BLUES' and 'STILL LIFES IN BLACK AND WHITE' are inspired by the tradition of sixteenth-century's still life paintings. The male body, is added to the compositions as if it was a corpse: raw meet combined with other organic elements in an ambiguous blend of textures and shapes. The resulting 'dead nature' aspires to a dark and displacing form of eroticism, on the edge between beautiful and vicious. The apparent lifeless condition of the bodies is itself conveying the tension for what appears to be just a temporary state, a metamorphosis into a different form.
