Does the art make the artist or does the artist make the art?

In this series of photographs we ask the question, "Does the art make the artist or does the artist make the art?" I shot a model painted like the backdrop (symbolizing a piece of art/ painting) and then took the subject (the model) off of the painting and put her into a set (symbolizing the real life of the artist). We wanted to show the emotions of the art and the artist. Both as a finished piece and during the process of creation.
