Silver City

Once a city with a prosperous metal industry and rich artistic culture, Meriden, Connecticut now stands on the precipice of a socio-economic crisis. Crime and unemployment rates are in high numbers, and property values continue to decline. I visit Meriden once every few years, and each time I am struck by how increasingly raw it feels. My photographs capture this moment of struggle, hoping to catch a glimpse of a silver lining.
