Staging or snapping adults with objects or food from their childhood is the aim of the series "En el castillo de mi alma." In Mexico, I wander the streets to find these images. Taken in a Mexican macho culture, these photos are an intimate symbol of the self. A time metaphor that is not working. The one of the child rediscovered reminds us to appreciate life simply.

As I was waiting on a street corner in Broadway near the theater area, a woman walking in an odd way suddenly appeared out of the blue in my composition. Her blue shirt caught my eye. Her strangeness made her beautiful. I felt both disrupted and overwhelmed by the moment. Looking through the viewfinder, I decide to press the shutter button, feeling lucky to have caught this moment just on time.

Like the South American continent, Gustavos' photographs are colorful. They describe complex scenes of everyday life and are filled with beautiful light and shadow.
