Thank You Diane Arbus

I'm a thief! I've received a bit of flowered praise in the past as "an original"... but in truth, I've swiped my style from other photographers. The purpose of this portrait project is to pay homage to those whose styles and images I could not resist. From Diane Arbus I took the key that unlocked my fascination with interesting people. Philip-Lorca diCorcia's work demonstrated wonderful posing and production techniques and I also learned it was ok to share food, water or a few dollars with subjects who are in need. Mary Ellen Mark's images continue to remind me to treat people with dignity and respect. There is nothing more important to work on in my lifetime than this.
