Countenance

Countenance is a project about basketball. After being around the same basketball team for a few months, I realised a few things. I had some interesting images from games, practises, etc.: those images you normally see from basketball. However, I also had a bunch of images from free throws or throws in general when the ball had just left my frame and were on its way to the basket. I saw the uncertainty: are the ball going to hit the basket or am I going to miss? Most people do not look at the player after the ball has been released, but I started focusing at that instead of the game that was going on around me. After a few more weeks, I found out that all the players had their own expression, it said something about them as players. I saw the similarities between the players, but not as much as I did between the different photographs of the same players.
