Perhaps never in the recent Russian history people who are called the observers have been so important. Many people who have been neutral to politics after the parliamentary election of December 4th 2011 finally are waking up. Falsification has brought huge benefit to not only government parties, but also it showed to people what’s going on in our country and for whom.
Since December till March for the first time in 12 years in Russia has been taken so massive opposition rallies and saying opposition not in original sense of the word, but in civil, non-partisan, heartfelt and meaningful way.
Just would like to remind that one of the mass opposition’s rallies over the years can be considered as a March of dissent in St Petersburg in 2007. There were about 5000 people marching down on Nevskiy.
In my opinion, the main thing that made the winter meetings – bring people together and give them faith; faith that you, the citizen of the country, can make a difference. One manifestation is that people, non-political in past, from different social classes have become observers.
This 9 people were taken from 2 to 4 March 2012 in Krasnodar, just before the presidential elections in Russia. The hope for an honest election outcome was burning in their faces. The way had the vote was hold, wasn’t dependent on them. Its right and the moral obligation they have implemented to great.
