I’m interested in the connection between absolute and relative.
Particularly, I’m interested in our mind’s filters that interpose between us and absolute reality, preventing to know things objectively.
There is only one absolute and objective reality (it seems that philosophy and religion say that). Our knowledge of reality is as much as human beings can realize. In fact, each of us has in his mind a multitude of social, cultural, economical, geographical conditionings that influence our perception of reality.
Immanuel Kant’s example is emblematic. He used to say that if a child was born with light blue lenses, to him all things are light blue.
Beach Erotica (Italian: Erotismo da spiaggia) is a metaphor about the connection between absolute and relative.
The beach is a context where there is both an objective situation and a relative one. In fact, some people go to the beach to sunbathe and swim. To do it, as we know, they take off clothes and wear bathing suits. Other people, by their own filters, give to it an erotic meaning...
