Cattywampus

Cattywampus is a creative portrait series based in the Southern United States depicting the surrealistic interpretations of the people and occurrences around me. The term “Cattywampus” is a Southern slang term for “askew” or “off-kilter”. Living my life with narcolepsy, it’s not always certain which components are real and which are fragments of projected dreams. Cattywampus is my photographic interpretation of these experiences and bizarre apparitions as they manifest around me. The main focus of this series is the romance between the conscious and subconscious, the metaphysical and the physical, the dream world and the tangible. In this body of work I have fused characters, occurrences, and places from my life, dreams, and the in- between that consists of both.
