Hamateurs—Amateur Radio in America

Hamateurs is an ongoing project documenting Amateur Radio operators—“hams”— across the US. Known by their call signs, unique number/letter combinations, they are your granddad, an older brother, a crazy uncle. Some are women, and too few. They build enormous antennas, and live—in basements and attics—amid static and hiss. There's one on your block, someone with the primal need to just talk to someone.
