The Herder Boys of Lesotho

A portrait project, photographed in the mountain kingdom of Lesotho. These bold and powerful figures caught my eye on a fleeting visit to the country in 2009 and I had to wait for 7 years to return and investigate who they are and how they live. These are the herder boys of Lesotho, emblematic figures who make a living in the toughest of circumstances, with all elements fighting their progress - animal, geographical and human.
