«I sit by myself
Talking to the Moon
Trying to get to You…» – by Bruno Mars
We often see the Moon, and it seems that we know it. But we only see one Moon phase at a time. We often see familiar persons, so we get used to thinking we know them well. But we only see just one of their "emotional faces" in any given moment. The Moon is a metaphor of how people see and know each other. We can see only “the near side of personality” and are not able to see “the far side” of it. We rarely see the “full emotional face” of another person, mostly just parts of it. The "Lunar People” project is a series of portraits featuring a sequence of "emotional faces” of a person – similar to phases of the Moon. It brings home the idea that people’s emotional lives may be much more diverse than we believe from our everyday experiences. We often judge people by their appearance and by the first impression they give us – this is what often creates prejudice about them.
