The eyes are windows into another dimension, they unlock space. Every picture has a specific sound and a unique reality inherent that reach out above the mere content. Even though the human body ages, the youthful soul lives in the eyes. The flower of life. Man and space is equivalent to presence. How does man influence space, or how does space influence man? Presence is tied to man the same way as a man is tied to existence. The organic three-dimensionality of the 8x10 inch exposure medium gets the portraits a hyperreal presence. The Pictures are taken with a Sinar 8x10 inch plate camera, B/W with different filter techniques/on colour negatives, no digital imaging or retouching. The reason why we work with large format plate cameras on film is, that we believe that the essence of photography lies in the veracity of the medium of photography itself.
