My work explores where people fall in the spectrum between the imagined-self and the actual-self through their interests and constructed lives; to appreciate the efforts of individuals to be separate and distinct from others while they also strive for human connection. Fascinated by the idea of enthusiasm for enthusiasm's sake, I point the lens toward people and their surroundings to preserve an imagined narrative. In recent work, I have taken a performative approach in my investigation.
In "The Enthusiasts", I recreate found images from pre-internet era niche publications with myself as the enthusiast.
