Present Moments

The portraits in this series are each constructed from two or more images made over intervals of time - months, years or decades. Half of the portraits use a collaged backdrop made from newspapers of their time period. I am drawn to my subjects - family members and friends - because something about who they are - perhaps their courage or vulnerability - moves me. This long-term project has allowed me to engage in depth with my own historical "moment".
