This ongoing project aims to capture a series of dignified portraits of the hill tribes people of Myanmar.
As Myanmar opens up to the world and develops, traditional cultural practices and way of life in the hill tribes are at risk of being lost.
I chose to approach this project with a specific direction of shooting hill tribes people in a dignified manner. These portraits aim to not only help remember culture, but to also respect it and the people in front of the lens.
It is my vision to travel through as much of Myanmar to capture individual characteristics and practices of each of the countless hill tribes. These photos submitted are from the Chin State and Eastern Shan State.
