I've covered a large number of country shows over the recent years and I'm always fascinated by those who go to them. Either directly as participants who bring livestock to be judged or as visitors to the show. I like the tradition that is carried on and the idea of maintaining a way of 'country' life that isn't always seen or appreciated anymore. The care and consideration that those who take their livestock have for their animals and the time and effort they put in to getting them ready.
These pictures have all been taken at a number of different country shows. From larger affairs through to the smaller village shows, to steam shows and gooseberry shows! When this project reaches a conclusion whenever that might be I hope that it will go towards forming a lasting record of what makes this traditional country heritage so important.
