Layers of Istanbul

Istanbul is a never ending story. Caught in the middle of the past and present,thus timeless. Numerous songs, poems, stories, films about Istanbul made people dream of a better life and dragged them to its magical existence. Timelessness of the city, layers of the streets that gather different stories, its matchless view and depressive atmosphere reflect its chaos to its imhabitants. Istanbul is like an impossible love, has a unique irresistibility. I fell into that irresistibility and love to live the city with all its aspects. For the last 8 years, I have been reflecting the everyday life of the city with my own perspective and show Istanbul's other faces. "Layers", an endless project, reflects Istanbul as it is. Plain and simple like its name. The feelings of the Istanbul carries through reflecting life of ordinary people that digested the chaos. In the photographs, subjects, mood and details hidden in the simplicity stand out.
