A city is a web of relationships. Every one among us, even if living in his own world, lives together with the others. Citylife is inseparable from human relationships. At any moment there is somebody near us.
The city unites people, challenging distances and every difference. It enables people to meet and conquer distances.
People share the same city spaces and relate to each other through a kind of communication. Invisible ties bind all people, wherever they are. This closeness is our freedom. To be connected is our fate.
To know a city is to discover these human connections. There is only one way to know a city: stroll. Wandering in Athens with my camera allows me to really observe and become the witness of the inner life of my city.
But I am not only an observer. I am also a participant. I communicate effectively with people. I talk to them. I listen to them. I feel empathy for them. When I feel moved, I press the shutter button.
I often return to the same places and I discover them again and again. It’s the repeating exploration of human interaction throughout the city that’s my destination.
At the end of the day, my pictures are the visual documentation of this exploration and the testimony of the uniqueness of the city where I live.
