Eid al-Adha - the most important Muslim holiday commemorating the sacrifice of Abraham. According to Islam, Abraham (Ibrahim) had to sacrifice his son Ishmael to God. Seeing the Abraham’s devotion, God allowed him to sacrifice a ram instead. In remembrance of Abraham's act, every father of the family sacrifices a sheep, a camel or a cow. The animal must be killed ritually and the act is done in public, on the streets. On that day the streets of Cairo are flowing with blood. The ritual oboe involves entire families, including children. It is a joyful Feast of the Sacrifice.
