Fantastic Journey

Our journey between wakefulness and sleep can trigger surreal visions. This fragmentation of consciousness is called 'hypnagogia'. As we enter sleep, the brain dismantles the models we use to interpret the world, leading to moments unconstrained by logic. These photographs have been taken in real places, but they resemble such hypnagogic states. Over time the real and the imagined merge, becoming glimmers of memories, fragments of experience, and even firm beliefs.
