Family Projections

I created these images in the mid 1980s using a Hassleblad and a slide projector. I enlarged old family snapshots onto 35mm slide film then projected it on myself and photographed the result. The collages was created inside the camera and the prints were made in a color darkroom. There was no PhotoShop at that time. These self-portraits draped my family members (my parents, aunt, older sister and my husband respectively) on me or in my living space. They were or now are no longer alive. Most were gone when I shot the series.
