The photographs submitted are part of an ongoing project, "Public Living Rooms." Thus far, the project includes images from San Juan, Havana, and Portland, Oregon. The conceptualization came in San Juan as I watched people get off buses at Plaza de Armas at 8 in the morning, spend their days with friends, and then board buses at 4 in the afternoon. Other people walked to the Plaza -- the same phenomena occurred at La Placita in the Santurce section of the city. I am presently talking with people with the goal of extending the project to cities throughout the World. Because I live in Portland, I work on the project locally at the present time.
