Portraits

This is a mix of both large format film and digital. For my film work: I have been using New55film on my Sinar F. We are in a fast paced digital world and reversing the role back to film. Film is where it began without knowing the results until the development. I'm in love with the textures, the imperfections and the perfections. Showcasing people and faces today brings back the nostalgia of the 19th century photographers to which I have a great respect and appreciation. My favorite portrait photographers are Julia Margaret Cameron, Catherine Just and Nicole Caldwell (no relation) For my digital work: The idea of of entering someone's space is very much out of my comfort zone. It's the struggle of capturing the subject at the right moment and time but when the results are successful, I can breathe again.
