Lost and Found

Views and objects exist in the world around me and I as a photographer look and decide where to place the frame around them. My work often produces questions. What is it or why were the pink sandals by the river ? Often pure light and shadow itself is my subject. I often visualise the image I want and then return with the right camera, and more often than not, film, to suit as a sculptor would choose his tools and stone. I find the slower process of using old film cameras and physically producing a negative slows me down and gives more thinking time per image. The works here are all as shot with an absolute minimum of post processing. These images all come from a recent body of work looking at lost and found items. l like the way the shoe images raise questions about why the shoes are where they are, who put them there, who rearranged the laces, who climbed over a fence to move the shoes when I went back with a different lens.
