Doris and Friends

“Making collages turned in to making 3 dimensional collages or miniature stage set-ups. Then I photograph it. The situation looks just real enough. I use oil paintings for the backdrops (my father’s, thrift shop paintings or my own), and I arrange objects in front of the painting using lady head vases on stands (antique ceramic heads) and my farm animals. Afterwards, I photoshop my body in to the scene. The strangeness is empowered by the ordinary. Enigmatic circumstances encourage viewers to construct their own stories.
