Coto de Caza

Located around Lima´s most unsuspecting areas there are a number of places exclusive for gay males such as bars, saunas, darkrooms, video clubs, etc. Most of them are completely underground and even illegal, largely due to Lima's society negative views upon homosexuality. Coto de Caza is a visual exploration that aims not only to show the physical dimension of these places but also to give the viewer an insight of the experiences, moments and the emotions you go through when you submerse yourself on this underworld. While sex is a very important factor in the interaction that happen there, the environment created inside of these places played a key role in this 'hunting' process, becoming another participant in the courtship between these men, and it was essential for me to capture the sensations that it evoked and not focus only on the explicit surface of the subject
